A Single Fingerprint for a Regional Ledger
A Merkle root is a single cryptographic fingerprint that summarizes every record in a regional ledger. If even one byte changes, one address or one identifier, the fingerprint changes. The roots below are immutable. They prove the ledger that existed at the timestamp shown is the same ledger being referenced now.
One Ethereum transaction. One hash. 137.6M US residential properties. The four regional roots above are the inputs — keccak256 computed in alphabetical region order.
Delta Anchor Protocol
ROOT_01 is permanent. Coverage grows.
US housing stock changes slowly — roughly 1.4M new addresses per year against a base of 137.6M. Rather than recomputing the national root, the registry issues versioned delta anchors on a quarterly cadence that fold in new construction and any addresses missed in prior OpenAddresses batching runs. Each delta is a new on-chain transaction with its own hash. ROOT_01 is never modified or replaced.
